Paperwork is all set…

Filed under: The Paper Trail — Tamra @ 10:07 pm

Got everything signed and notarized today; made copies in triplicate; and got my last vaccination shot. :yuck Boy am I glad that’s over with!

The guardianship papers showed up at my agency today. I can’t wait to actually see them! They will be sending them to me along with some formula and lice treatment to take to the orphanage.

I finalized my plane tickets today. It turns out we are not going around the world after all. We found cheaper tickets home through Asia. That’s OK. It would have been cool to go all the way around the world though! 🙂 The plane tickets should be here tomorrow! Yee Haw! :laugh

Little things

Filed under: The Paper Trail — Tamra @ 4:07 pm

There are a million last minute things to do in adoption. Every time I think I have it all done, a few more creep up.

We had our vaccinations done on Monday and my arm still hurts! The oral Typhoid vaccine is giving me major headaches. AND we still have to go back next monday for another Hep A/B. ICK! Luckily the needles were small, they didn’t hurt at least. It sure hurts like the dickens now though.

I’m trying to get a bunch of NIX brand lice treatment to take with us. That stuff is $10 a box! I hope my friends don’t think it’s tacky; I’m asking each guest to bring a bottle to the shower. LOL it still won’t be near enough how much the orphanage needs.

I’m trying to get all the cloth diapers sewn that I am taking. I have all my friends madly sewing away. The goal is 4 dozen diapers, 2 dozen covers, and 1 dozen All-in-ones. Whew! Gotta hurry!!!:taekwondo

I sent in our visa paperwork and only sent HALF the fee! I don’t know where my brain is I swear! Dh will be off to the PO tonight to overnight the rest of the money. LOL

The last thing we have to do is get all of our documents for the I-864 signed and notarized. Then we’ll be scott free! I hope. :wink

It’s Done!!!

Filed under: The Paper Trail — Tamra @ 12:07 pm

All my worries have been laid to rest!!! Today we found out that we don’t need the ICPC, UT doesn’t require it!!! I was recieving mixed messages about that. :rolleyes So that means we don’t have to wait for the guardianship papers to be sent here to file it!!!!

My SW is working on the homestudy update.

I’m filling out my visa paperwork as we speak.

My I-864 is all filled out, just needs notary stamps.

The intent to immunize form should be in the mail today.

And that’s IT!!!!! We are going to INDIA!!!!! Nothing can stop us now!!!! Oh blessed relief. Oh sweet joy! Rani we are coming!!!

:heartbeat:lovestruck:hug:rofl:kissme:angel:clap:cloud9:pray:weeping

One thing figured out, many more to go

Filed under: The Paper Trail — Tamra @ 8:07 am

Well, the bad news is, the homestudy does need to be updated. The good news is that all we need to update it is a letter from my social worker saying nothing has changed and she still recommends me for a child from India! Whew! Now that’s something that can be done in two weeks!

Now the only problem is, that the guardianship papers haven’t shown up yet and we need them to file our 100a(Interstate compact)! Eek! We can do this! I know we can do this!!!! :weightlifter

I hate the weekend

Filed under: The Paper Trail — Tamra @ 10:07 am

Nobody works on the weekend! I can’t get anything done on the weekend! I contacted my SW about the homestudy update. She says that under Utah law the homestudy is valid for two years unless a placement is made. Of course I now can’t ask anyone from my agency because they don’t work Fridays; and I emailed the man who handles the I-600s at the American Embassy in India, but of course it’s allready evening there so I won’t get a response till Sunday night. :worried I hate the weekend because my hands are tied and I can’t do anything! I feel like every minute that goes by I lose the chance to go on the 28th to India.

On the fun side. I did get a digital camera so now we can take our visa photos and print them out. 🙂

When will it end???

Filed under: The Paper Trail — Tamra @ 1:07 pm

I was informed by my agency this morning that my homestudy has expired. :banghead I didn’t think it would be a big deal, but apparently it is. Oh I hope I can get a social worker over here to update it ASAP!

I’ve been researching digital cameras! Woohoo! I want to use it to make photos for our visas, so we may go tonight or tomorrow to get one. Yay!

I-171H

Filed under: The Paper Trail — Tamra @ 1:07 am

I recieved word today from Delhi that our Orphan Petition (I-171H) HAS arrived in New Delhi!!! Woohoo!!! That’s a relief for sure. Now if only we could figure out the taxes. *sigh* Then we’d be all set!

I booked our hotels today. Still working on flights. So I’m pretty sure we are leaving July 28th and returning August 8th. We will meet Rani for the very first time, ON HER BIRTHDAY! Yippee!!!!

Please keep praying that the data retrieval on our computers will work!:pray

Oh man another problem!

Filed under: The Paper Trail — Tamra @ 10:07 am

We need copies of our last three years tax returns when we go to India. We made copies of them, but didn’t make copies of the copies because the information was safe on our computer. Um…well…our computer has since crashed and the computer guy say it would take a miracle to save the information! I called the IRS and to get a photocopy of the return it takes SIXTY DAYS!!!!!!! SIXTY! What am I going to do? I think I really want to cry right now!:weeping

On the bright side, I did get in contact with the INS and they reassured me that it has been forwarded to Delhi. If not then they will electronically send it, the same day we contact them to tell them they don’t have it. YAY!

AND my agency worker who is in India right now says the guardianship papers will be to them on the 8th, to us on the 14th, and her passport will be ready on the 23rd! So we should have no problem going by her birthday if we get this IRS thing worked out. Please PRAY FOR US!:pray
