I’m trying to think of some names to have as an option…I don’t want to make any decisions until I know her orphanage name, because I would like to keep it if it’s at all cute…but here are a few of my faves right now.  Do you have any suggestions?  I like French names, older names, and unique names.  Here’s my short list.

Dahlia, Zion, Adelle, Sylvie, Angeline, Tranquility, Nevaeh, Jada, Safina, Nina, Lily, Francesca, and Asha

    Hi Tamra,

I’ve been following your story since before you brought Rani home and I am so excited to see that you are adding another little one to your family!

Since you asked for feedback, I’ll put in my vote for either Nevaeh (Don’t know what it means, but sure sounds pretty), Lily, or Asha. The only ones I am not that fond of are Zion (just sounds a bit harsh for such a pretty little girl) and Tranquility (it’s long and you would not want people caling her “tranq” for short). Jada and Angeline are nice, but a bit reminiscent of certain celebrities 🙂

Whatever name you choose, I wish you a speedy process getting her home!

    Best wishes,

I love Lilly/Lily. It seems to ‘fit’ her. A classic name that just ‘goes’ with those eyes.

For French names- my favs have always been Gabrielle and Madeleine. Though I like Adelaide too.

My tastes in names tend to shy away from too unique and ‘name of the day’. Guess growing up with a name that I could NEVER find on a keychain or pen affected me more than I thought huh? 🙂

I like the classic sounding names- names that are good for a young girl & an 80 year old woman.

Whatever you decide- I’m sure it will fit your new daughter to a tee.

Good luck with the adoption. I hope she can be yours and comes home soon!

I think Nevaeh is Heaven spelled backwards??? Not sure if that’s what she was aiming for or not. I work in a multicultural community…I’ve seen Nevaeh a lot. I’d lean towards Lily, too.

I do like Lily out of the names you have chosen, however…my personal favorite would be a name from her country. Something linking her with their words for:

Or something like that. But that is just my opinion.

All pretty, but Nevaeh really jumped out at me. It’s nice, and feminine.
