May 4 2006: Decided to adopt from Rwanda
May 11 2006: Submitted police clearance papers
May 17 2006: Medical exams for homestudy
May 27 2006: Recieved police clearance papers
May 30 2006: Homestudy Interview
June 7 2006: Recieved Certified Homestudy
June 16 2006: Dossier is complete!
June 20 2006: Dossier arrives in Rwanda
August 8 2006: Fingerprinted for I-600a
August 8 2006: Adoption Petition Denied by Rwanda
August 15 2006: Decide to switch to Zambia
August 16 2006: Emailed USCIS to change countries
August 18 2006: Submitted actual request letter and addendum to USCIS for country change.
September 12 2006: Called Social Welfare in Zambia to ask about referrals and emailed homestudy for approval
September 13 2006: Wired Fostering money for two children to Zambia
September 13 2006: Recieved I 171-H!
December 9 2006: Recieve referral for Christine
January 9 2007: Officially accept referral pending HIV status
January 30 2007: Recieve news that Christine is positive.  Waiting for referral again.
March 20 2007: Told to come to Zambia
April 10 2007: Decide that Zambia adoption is not right for our family

    Why did you decide that adoption from Zambia wasn’t right for your family?

    The Dept of State’s website advises all adoptions from Zambia are suspended.

    why were you denied by Rwanda? We’ve adopted from China and Ethiooia. We’re starting #3. Hoping for Rawanda.
